See this thread:  http://www.cj3apage.com/cgi-bin/3Ayabb26/YaBB.pl?num=1480128577

It's my Jeep.  I'm glad you are enjoying it.  He intends to post videos of the entire restoration.

Maybe some of this on the shims would do the trick (http://gasgacinch.com/home/products/)   I dunno, but its worth a try on your next knuckle service.

Debella sells plenty is NOS parts. His worm shaft could be NOS. make sure you call him and ask.  If it's NOS, I would buy it. Nothing like an NOS part.

Nate: Where did you get those U joints? Tractor Supply in Torrington? What exact size and type are they? I have a Ramsey PTO winch with the original round-bar drive shaft, but no U joints.

Try Timesert (www.timesert.com).  I've used it and it's great.

I don't know if we can liven up the board, or not. I'm sure many of you have your hands full with your Willys as summer approaches. Maybe your Willys is just sitting comfortably waiting for its chance to fly.

Aside from Carl and his frustrating discovery, perhaps we can all post what we are doing, or have recently done with our Willys. Maybe with a few photos.

Just touch base. Oil change? Painting a part? Trail ride? Bought a new pan to catch leaks? :-? Carb adjustment? Anything.

Anything that involves you and your Willys.

I'll start: Check out the "Gatherings" page. A few of us went to the Golden Super Cruise last weekend. (Pictures) I discovered my Willys leaks through the front of the transmission. I am trying to decide whether to tear it open or wait till winter.

I know all about Rick Stivers' rebuild guide. But I had noticed that he also made a video. I tried contacting him for a copy of the video and was informed that he passed away. I would love to have the video.  Sorry for the thread hijack.  My bad.

What was the solution?

Hey Uncle_Vin, It's been a long time. It's good to hear from you again.

Your question makes me wonder if you're in the middle of a transmission as well? What's going on in your Jeep World? An update would be great.

Hey Calvin. I've been around. I lurk here at least two times per week. I still have more jeeps than I should.  (63' CJ-5; 62' P/U; and three 3As (including the umolested one that I scored off eBay a few years ago)). I figured that I should stop contemplating and just pull the trigger on a restoration.  My Cj-5 is my lone driver.  I think I'll start off with it. The tranny jumps out of gear in second (common problem) and the floors are wasted, so I have to take the tub off anyhow.  Thanks for giving me a shout out. I love to read your posts.

Try Evaporust (www.evaporust.com).  That might work.  You should be able to get it locally.

Hate to ask, but could you post diagrams / instructions for each?  I'm a dummy when it comes to electical issues and I need all of the help that I can get.   :D
