A photo of ODie and Whitey cuddled up together in my garage...




You may have noticed how much taller Whitey is than ODie.� A full 2".� Odie has the original warn out suspension.� Not wanting ODie to feel emasculated, I've decided to replace his suspension...

ODie will never sit as high as Whitey, but I wanted him to be able to at least look Whitey in the eye.

Do you have a picture of the metal (copper?) part of the wiper motor tube on the inside of the windshield frame?

I never really finished that, just ran a rubber tube the full length from engine to wiper motor...

Very nice! With the new springs (sprangs in Texan!) you may want to add a little padding to the driver seat

Where did you find a good vintage jerry can? I have purchased 2 and they are both rusty as heck. I thought that I could clean them out but no luck. Good thing I only paid 20 bucks for them.

I have run it around a bit.� I do have to dial in the timing a little more�and get rid of the lag when I accelerate, but for the most part, everything is working pretty well.� It�does�leak�a small amount from the rear main.� Dang.

1955CJ5,
I�ll shoot a photo of that piece tonight.� I made it with brake line.� I shaped it to match the original using one of those tube benders that looks like a spring.� It turned out pretty close to the original look.� I still have to dig in to the wiper motor.� It�s not running.� Dang.

The doggy sticker is a �Must Have� for Rachel.� My challenge was to place the sticker here without having the Jerry Can strap over the doggies face.� I made a plate out of a scrap piece of aluminum.� I�ll eventually paint it to match the Willys.

I have the same issue when I find these Jerry Cans.� This one looked like it was in good shape until I wire wheeled the bottom.� This exposed a number of pin holes.� I cut the bottom out and welded in a new one.� While it was open, I thoroughly cleaned the interior.� I plan to coat the bottom with Rhino-Liner.� That reminds me�I haven�t done that yet.� Dang.

Tim, I'm finding at our altitude 10 BTDC is the ticket.  Would like to know what you come up with when you get there.

Hi Tom,
This is my current timing struggle.� If I try to go much higher than 5�BTDC, I get an engine knock.� If I retard the timing too much, I create a lag on acceleration.� I'm going to hook up a tach/dwell...and a vacuum gauge and see where I end up.� I'll let you know.

Randy...Here is the photo of the tubing for the vacuum.� Not an overly difficult piece to make...

Wow. That's a heck of a sight seeing Odie and Whitey side-by-side. Really sharp. So good, in fact, it makes me want to burn down my garage and find a new hobby.
