My local glass shop installed it for $135 out the door.  I carried in my frame and new seal from Walcks and walked out 2 hours later.

When I got my parts from Novak, (other than the rebuild kit) they were NOS and coated in very old cosmoline.  I think when they called me they gave me the option of NOS.  I picked NOS.

I'd definitely give Novak a call and see what they would price it out for you at.  It's top quality stuff.

I had the same concern when I was looking at rebuilding my transmission.  I ended up going with Novak Adapters for my rebuild kit.  Everything I saw pointed me to them.  They have lots of NOS parts and put together a top notch kit.  Very reasonably priced.  From what I heard about the omix parts is that they are not machined as well, made with inferior quality metal and people find that parts don't fit well.  The main shaft I've been told by omix can easily be marked up (soft metal) unlike stock or NOS parts and will likely wear out very quick.  Check out novak: http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/transmission/transmission_parts/t90_parts.htm

I needed a new main shaft and they supplied that for me as well.  It was NOS.  8-)

Hey everyone, been a while since I've been on.  I've been busy reassembling everything and was installing wiring today.  After I finished up all the gauges I had the speedometer left.  I went to install it and it wouldn't fit!!  >:(  I have a repro dash I got from walcks as well as a new speedo from walcks as well.  Anyone else ran into this?  I've had to drill out the light switch hole bigger as well as drill out the ignition switch's hole.  Other than that the new dash seems to have been OK.

Never mind, not pins like that.  Good pictures!  Might be able to get a brass screw that has a counter sunk head like that.

I found a good selection of pins in my local Ace Hardware.  Just a thought.

I used por15 on my frame.  It worked OK but if I was to do it over again, I would have stripped everything off and had it blasted.  I was "cutting corners" by not doing that and now I wish I had.  That being said, por15 should be pretty good for the next decade or two of garage life my 3a will enjoy.

Nice looking 3b!  That green looks pretty good too.  I've been able to find all the codes and pictures of the color charts, but it's hard to picture on the cj.  Even more when you take into account the cost of custom mixing the paint.

Anyone have any pictures of this color on a jeep?  I'm pretty sure that was the original color of mine under all the layers over the years but it's hard to tell.  Everything I've found online is hard to tell.

Could really use someone making reproduction panels of these sockets.  When I stripped my grill to get blasted I found bubba had cut out the originals and screwed in some other sockets from who knows where. . They are of course rusty and unrestorable.  Now I'm stuck trying to figure out my next steps...

I haven't personally used it but I've heard good things about the por15 fuel tank kit.

The flakey stuff is probably rust.  One thing you might try is running some heavy solvent or grease cleaner around in it.  Stuff like purple power works good. I had it strip cosmoline off a nos part for my transfer case in about an hour. Rinsed clean.  You can pick up a gallon of it at places like auto zone or lows for pretty cheap.  I'd dump the whole gallon in there and swish it around, then let it sit over night.  The next thing I'd do after washing the purple pwoer out of it is to dump a gallon of evap-o-rust in there.  Let it sit overnight again.  That should remove all the remaining rust.  You should have a clean slate to treat it and seal it with the por kit after that.  Anyone else that's done it I'm sure will chime in.
