@PeterL,
When I got my parts from Novak, (other than the rebuild kit) they were NOS and coated in very old cosmoline.  I think when they called me they gave me the option of NOS.  I picked NOS.

This is a copy and paste of an email I received from Novak. I was not given an option for NOS and it seems as though they are comfortable with Crown parts.

Hi Peter:

No worries, and please don't apologize, I completely understand. They are not re-boxed parts. We get most of the T90 parts from Crown and some from AllTrans. There is only one part from Omix that we occasionally use (an adjustable Dana 300 twinstick kit). Do keep in mind that the quoted kit includes a rebuild kit too. Here is a link to the rebuild kit:

Peter, FBill fairly covered the issues. The parts are simply not up to specs. The blocking rings wear out fast and the tapers on the overseas input shaft and second gear are rough or undersize. It doesn't take long for hard shifting or failure to shift into second and third to appear.

If you do a search on this site and the CJ2A site about tranny/transfer parts you will find a lot of info.

Herm the OD Guy uses Crown parts, Walcks used Omix ada,   I haven't heard back from Novak yet, but they are more than double the price of the others, so hopefully they are better, hate to chunk extra money in for the parts
