What kind of paint for frame

What do you recommend for painting the frame?  I will be cleaning it with a wire brush (powered version on angle grinder).

I was leaning towards POR 15, but I would welcome your comments/suggestions.

I plan on using the same paint on the axles and springs once I've got those ready, too.  I am not planning to disassemble spring packs for painting--just paint over the assembly.

I used Mastercoat Silver as my starter primer...

Then Oxide Red, then my top coat.�

The Master Series� Silver out-performs POR15 in almost every way.

Edit:  I noticed they call it MasterCoat Rust Sealer now.  They used to call it Mastercoat Silver.

I used Eastwood rust encapsulator & went over that with their chassi black ! Both in aerosol cans !!!

I would really like to be able to pick something up locally, rather than have to get a product shipped from the US--I'm in Canada.

 I found a local supplier for POR15.  While it may not be as good as the others, is there any reason NOT to use it?

What other brands could I look for which might be better, and available locally?  It looks like Eastwood has a distributor in Calgary, which is a six hour round trip, so that's not ideal unless I'm willing to wait until I'm heading there for other reasons.

I'm guessing Tremclad is not recommended for this purpose...  (Although it is available everywhere.)

I've read very good reviews on Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer.  I bought a gallon and have used it on a number of small parts.  It's easy to work with.  Brushes and sprays very nice.  I may use it on my next restoration.  Mainly because this Willys is being done on a tight budget.  A gallon costs around $40.00 at Home Depot.

POR 15, or any similar product, may not be a good choice on the leaf spring packs because it will "glue" them together and they will not flex properly.

I've been using that on the small parts, and rust converter on the frame. The paint is Duplicolor engine semi-gloss black. It seems like a good paint considering it is from a can...it flows on nice and seems just a little more durable than other aerosol can paints.

I went with the duplicolor just because touch-up is easy, and as I go along all the small parts can be sprayed to match.

And, it will come off easily if some day this jeep gets re-done.

All that being said I have a quart of POR-15 as I had originally intended to go that route...

I used por15 on my frame.  It worked OK but if I was to do it over again, I would have stripped everything off and had it blasted.  I was "cutting corners" by not doing that and now I wish I had.  That being said, por15 should be pretty good for the next decade or two of garage life my 3a will enjoy.

Just to be clear, my frame is totally stripped down.  I will be cleaning it as well as I can with a wire brush on an angle grinder. 

For an extra 60 bucks in gas, I could take it out to my cabin and sand blast it, if that would be much better.  (The extra gas is because my trailer is out there, so I need an extra trip to go get it.)  Probably need to rent a bigger compressor, too but that's doable.  I don't mind spending a bit more money to do it right.
