What exact 6v bulb did you buy?  Is there a brand and part number?

I bought mine here:

They are the 1156 "Short Globe Bulb Clear".

I'm not sure what the actual brand is. The base of each bulb is stamped "CPI B1006-6V China M8"

I bought 10 so I won't have to worry about them again for awhile....
