Well, sort of a mutilation, anyway! Grin

My new 3A came with a full cab, and at one time I believe it was an extended cab/body, like a delivery truck of some sort.

Anyway, when it was installed, the tailgate was removed, and the back corners of the tub above the fender wells was cut out.

Just so happened we still had the remains of the rusty '46 2A tub out back, and what was left of the tailgate.

So, with a little grinder and plasma cutter work....

Ended up with this:

Had to remove some steel and booger welds from the 3A, and then fit the 2A parts on the back.

She won't win any beauty contests, but at least now I can run the trails at the cabin, and not worry about the chain saw falling out the back!

Life does seem to get in the way of working on our Jeeps!

Right now, in the small shop at my dad's place, we have a '46 and a '47 2A's in pieces, salvaging the best from each to make one good Jeep.

My shop has my '00 TJ in it, getting fixed from a roll over last July.

The work on this 3A is kind of a 'hurry up' job, so we can use it at the cabin for deer season, then store it in the barn until next summer, when we can do more to it. That is if we get the 2A up and mobile by then Roll Eyes

Top it all off with the fact that I lost a cylinder on my CJ7 last Saturday, and I'm up to my ears in Jeep projects!

Hopefully I'll have heat in my new garage next winter, as working when the temps are below freezing doesn't appeal to me anymore. Cheesy

I must say, that's pretty darn nice work, considering you're doing it on the fly.

Well done!  It would have taken me 2 weeks worth of hand wringing to get that far.
