Vacuum wiper motor... passenger side

How does the brass nut differ from the nuts that are attached to my wiper arm? I have attempted to post a pic of what I have. The fellow that oldtime recommended as a possible source is he a vendor or a forum member?

Will the two piece nuts I have (hmmm!) work with the nos arms, which incidentally I have ordered.

What you're showing is the nut I had before.  It goes under a more modern style wiper arm that fits OVER the nut.  Look again at OT's image of the arms and wiper motor shaft.  There's a correct nut on the shaft thread.  The original nut is threaded on after the arm is positioned on the shaft splines.  Look closely at the image OT posted.  You'll see the corresponding splines on the inside of the mounting hole on the arm.

Assembled, should look like this on Lawrence Wade's '55 (also note - as OT said, for venting, motors turned upside down and the curved inlet/barb is pointing the other way):

Yes thd nuts on Carl walcks site look correct and very much cheaper than the nos brass nuts I bought a few years back.

As often said... a picture is worth a thousand words. I couldn’t visualize how the brass nut would secure the wiper arm to the motor shaft. Because all the arms I am familiar with you just push the arm onto the serrated nut.

It’s ironic ... I can rebuild a $100,000 refrigeration compressor but a Jeep vacuum wiper motor takes 1-1/2 pages of posting for me to see the light. LOL Oh well it is what it is.
