Looks excellent.  A smart decision to get help with the hood.  I tried a "flat hood", smaller, by myself and ended up dropping it, damaging it and the firewall, and ended up needing bi-lateral hernia surgery.  Help is good!  SAFETY FIRST.

Wilson-Wilson is back in the shop, and I've had a little movement from the paint guy. Tailgate and grill are done. Can't mount the tailgate because the hinges are not painted yet, and I also ordered the wrong early model "4 Wheel Drive" decal.




Everything in the wiring harness worked correctly the first time around. I am very impressed with the new harness that I got from Carl Walck. Well made, great instructions and a reasonable price.

One setback, with the grill in place, I was able to mount the radiator and fill with coolant. I put 5 gallons of non-ethanol gas in the tank and was able to fire it up. That's when I noticed the gas tank was leaking badly along the rear bottom seam. I quickly drained the tank and removed it and carefully cleaned all the gas from the new paintwork. Does not look like it did any damage to the paint. I think I will replace the tank rather than trying to fix it, don't want to take a chance, it's a lot worse that I thought.  If anybody wants this old tank, come get it!

my walcks harness, is goin well so far, got questions tho. i'll post them in the correct section of the forum.

The only problem I have had with the harness is the two horn wires have ring terminals and the horn has spade connectors!

Interesting update: Took my seats to an automotive trim shop today. I thought these black seats were original, but after removing the covers, we found the remains of the original seat covers underneath. I decided to have the seats restored in the same color and material as the original. This should be interesting! Photos soon.

 my wife doesn't like the original seat covers, they are gold. i did get replacements, same as the original. may change direction on those covers ?  were did you get your tires ?

Tires were on the jeep when I bought it. They are in pretty good shape, but they are the wrong size, 7.00 - 16. I am changing them out for 6.50 - 16 STA Traxton tires from Summit Racing. I already have the tires but the tubes are on backorder.

Got the new 6.50x16's on the front today. You would not think it would make much difference, but it does!

I got the other two tires on today, looks like I will have to repaint the rims, but I'll wait until the weather warms up some.  Finished the hood weather stripping. Now waiting on the upholstery shop. Beginning to think this is going to be the paint shop all over again!
Other than that, I'm going to call it finished.
