I am trying to figure out how this bracket attaches to my motor and how it holds the alternator on. Everything else is looking good.

I will add...This bracket is for a stock generator. If you're using an alternator, you'll need a different set up.

Ha - I had to discover all of this too when I converted to an alternator. You'll need a pulley for the wide belt:

and then you need the new alternator bracket which will replace what you have: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201282063943?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Of course I'm assuming you have a stock 3A set up. Good luck - you will get there! BTW...be advised you will need to research how best to wire it in. I had a volt meter already so just ran the field wire to the switch and then a wire to the volt meter. If you plan to keep your ammeter, the wiring is different. I much prefer a voltmeter but it is up to you. I bought the Delco 3 wire alternator. I don't know much about the 1 wire alt.

Somehow that bracket was used on my 3a go mount the alternator. I just can't figure out how they had it set up. It looks very similar to those brackets that aboyandhisdog posted. I can't imagine that I am missing something.

Austin, you do have the rod and nuts that go through the bracket and alternator (generator) right? Tim's photo is great but doesn't show the rod. Could you be missing that?

I figured it out. I ended up making a bracket. I will post a picture later on this morning.
