the rebuilder mentioned that not all 3A transmissions flowed oil to the transfer case.
If nothing else it's encouraging that your rebuilder knows this. Sounds like you found the right guy for the job.

I looked at my cases. I don't know if this is a clue, but neither T-90 has the cast #4 or the Q (?) Where this 4 and Q are, I have one small #2...concave, not raised lettering.
Both T-90 cases have the full date on the date tag. 12-4-50 and 5-10-48. Yours has, what appears to be, just the month and date...no year.
The two TC cases I can look at: Both have the C18-15-10 8 that you show, but one has raised letters, the other has concave letters. Neither have the raised G. The case with the concave numbers also has a concave S, but much lower on that same face.
I know, I haven't helped at all, but it's interesting none the less. Just wanted to throw out the differences. Maybe we can get a few more guys to chime in.
