Seat Belt Anchors?

I'm thinking that I will install seat belts. I found a set of aircraft style quick release 1 3/4" belts that were meant to clip into eye bolts. So, That is probably what I'll use, but I thought I'd see what others have done.

I'm not sure where the anchors ought to be in terms of having the belt at an effective angle..

[size=8]Obviously I can't see them, but are you sure eyebolts? All I am aware of are latch plates with a four-bolt pattern and either a recessed rod or a welded-on plate with a hole in it for the latch.[/size]

These are what I used on my '53. I bolted mine through the hat channels next to the seats that come down from the side and on to the rear fender well and then other ends are bolted on by one bolt which goes through the side of the toolbox near the rear floor riser.

I expect that when they were mounted in whatever vehicle they came out of that they clipped to the seat frame.� The tag reads:

"BELT: Aircraft, Safety, Lap, Troop, Type MC1A" With plenty of numbers.

I think ring bolts is what I meant to say....

I agree about going through the side brace on the outboard of the seats....

Well, those brackets would be perfect...

But where do I find them?

I would really like to use something that is more appropriate than a hardware store ring bolt...I was going to try some footmen loops but they are too small, and I have a frame tie-down footman but it is way too large....

I have some 60's era lap belts and put one side on the slope of the wheel housing and the other about 4.5 inches back on the deck with 3/8 bolts through and large washers on the back side and nylock nuts on them.

CJ-5's aircraft belts sure bring back memories.� Put the exact same belts in my '56' CJ-5 back in '70'.  Got em at the Elmendorf base surplus store.� Gotta see if I can get them back from my nephew.� Probably take a whole bottle of *.
