Speedy-Sleeve

Does anyone know the right size Speedy Sleeve for the output yoke??  Also, would it be the same size for the other side of the drive shaft?  I have a small leak.  The gear oil flings onto the exhaust pipe.  It stinks!

Yes I do and I will look them up tomorrow and post them. Be forewarned they are expensive and I will post what I paid for them and where I got them.

I know they are pricey.  I'm not sure if I should sleeve the yoke or replace it.  Kaiser has the Pinion yoke for $44.00.  I don't want to spend that if the thing is junk.  

It won't have the dust shield either.  Do you know if the original dust shields are removable?

Have you had good success with the sleeve?

FYI those dust shield are removable.  Interference fit.

I got the speedie sleeves from Applied industrial Tech and two sleeves for the transfer case output yokes were part #99155 @ $33.62 each in 2010.

The front and rear pinion yokes use the same sleeve part #99155 and now they are $35.29 each. I just put two on when I rebuilt the engine.

Some auto parts suppliers have them or can order them  but on line or industrial supply houses are usually cheaper.

Follow the instructions and use a thin coat of sealer on the yoke seal area when installing them.

Thank you to everyone for the replys.

I have found a number of sleeves using the part number supplied by Carl.  As Bill mentions, there is a HUGE price difference from supplier to supplier.  Can this be justified?  Is there a difference between a 'National Redi-sleeve', and an 'SFK Redi-sleeve'?

For a few bucks more, I can get a new yoke.  Are these worth the extra expense?  Or are the new Repros, junk?  

To all that read this...What would YOU do?

I have wondered the same thing. I don't know if they are all made by one company or not. I just got them from the place I buy special seals and bearings from. The name Speedi Sleeve is a registered trade mark of SKS but I guess some other companies may make the gut they can't call them Speedi Sleeves without license from SKS. National and SKS are good companies.

1-I would try to find a good used yoke.
2-Buy new repro.
3-Speedy-sleeve.

It's just my though. I never work with speedy sleeve before.

You have to decide if you want your original yokes or a Chinese replacement. The sleeves are easy to use and they have the added feature of pushing the seal lip a little wider to make a tighter seal.  Since I am not fond of after market replacement parts I try to use original parts or NOS parts.

I have used Speedi sleeves for many years and they do a good job if done correctly.
