Headlights

Hi all:
Getting pretty close to done (will try to get some pictures posted soon), but trying to deal with some final wiring issues.  In wiring up the headlights we get power to both but the right headlight comes on very dimly.  It's not the light itself as we switched them and same deal.  Anyone run into this issue and have any recommendations?  Also ordered the parts to assemble the parking lights, do the bulb fittings simply attach to the cup in the grill or is there a piece that goes into the recess that the bulb holders fit into?

You definately have a bad ground.  run a ground from the battery temporarly to see what I mean.

Yes, bad ground at the headlight plug wiring. The same is true of a dim light anywhere on a vehicle.

Do you have one 12 volt bulb in a 6 volt system?

No, he swapped the bulbs with the same effect.

Your right, I see that now. Thats's what happens when your too poor to pay attention.

I was under the impression that the bulb holders were in the back and the bulb was inside the lens or something. I used an older grill with different lights but I think there is a photo here

that shows it in the bottom right corner of the page. You can see the socket sticking out just below the headlight bucket. I thought there was a better photo but I couldn't find it offhand. Maybe this will help?

Yeah..that was it, tested the ground and that was the problem. Thanks for the tip and the link to the parking light, I've been all through that site but hadn't caught that part.  When the parts came from Willys it seemed like there had to be one part missing but I guess not.
