Fan shroud screws
« on: November 15, 2015, 06:44:31 AM »
Since I was not there when my cousin removed the fan shroud, I have no idea what fasteners to use to mount it to the radiator, does anyone here have the screw specs?

Thanks
Kirk

Screw, pan head, No. 8-15 x 3/8"

Be careful, these screw holes are REALLY close to the core. If the screw is too long it will poke a hole in a tube.

I'm pretty sure I ground the sharp tips off the screws before I put them in...

I had read about a couple of punctures from screws that were just a little too long...

Randy thanks for the tip and the pictures, I did in fact get some new screws and ground the tips off. Acually quite a bit of the screw. Then I added blue loctite before screwing them in slowly.

Fingers crossed no leaks... Engine should be running in frame week after next!
