He's using the diesel drivetrain for his CJ-6 build. The 5 however doesn't look as bad as it used to. It probably is restorable.

I tested the motor yesterday. It starded very easily. I will post vid�o of it. Now i dont know what to do with it anymore, i found a 1"3/4 crack in the block. :-((((

JB Weld for non-critical areas.

Personally I would not try to weld that block unless it was an expert welder with lots of experience welding engine blocks. To me it is the perfect candidate for stitching. http://www.locknstitch.com/
You could try epoxy but I think it would be a temporary repair. Another thought is modern block sealer that would be added to the coolant. They have come a long way since the good old days.

I already got an answer from locknstich.

"It looks like it is into the oil. You need to robe the oil pan and find pit where the crack comes through to the inside. It can be easily stitched but metal shavings cannot be allowed inside the crankcase. It is possible you may find the crack extends into a main bearing saddle or some where that could explain the cause of the crack. "

My block is actually broken and patched. Probably a big chunk missing under the patch. It's the opposite side of the block from the other perkins we've seen with a windowed block from #3. I've seen guys stitch powerstroke blocks, It should work for your perkins also.

Be sure to let us know how the JB Weld worked.
It's always promoted as the miracle cure for all things broken.
I'd like to see it actually do some of the heavy duty repair it claims to do.

Yes. Very big patch indeed. Not sure who did it but it would not have been my repair method had I had the jeep at the time it went "bang!" If I ever pull the engine for rebuild, I will likely take the block to a professional welder to have it repaired correctly.

I have a T98 transmission with a DANA transfert case.

I was expecting a T86 with a spicer transfert case.
