Frame Measurements

Hi everyone, since my last message when I discovered that my frame was bent I have stripped the jeep down to nothing in order to straighten it.
I have discovered that there is a repair close to the plate that supports the brake master cylinder.
I am not convinced that it has been fitted correctly and that the cylinder does not line up true with the pedal arm. I wondered if someone could take some measurements for me.
Basically I need the distance from the outside of the frame to the face of the master cylinder plate. Or the inside face of the frame to the same plate.
I have added a Word document with a basic plan in the hope that it helps clarify what I require.
Can anyone help ?

Hiya,
I can't read your document...perhaps because I only have OpenOffice for "word" documents. But, I get what you're asking and my frame was handy so I made a measurement.

I measure the frame rail width to be 2 inches, and the bracket that is welded to the inner frame rail sticks out (toward the center of the vehicle) by another 3/8 inches.

So, the outer face of the frame rail to the mounting face of the master cylinder bracket is 2.375 inches.

I will add as an aside, the welding was pretty darn sloppy, so it could be your bracket is fine, just original sloppy welds.

Thanks Dave , that's great. I have to say my welds are pretty dire too. I thought that it was a farm repair after a collision but perhaps that's how it came.
I will measure her up tonight and let you know.
