Door frame question very important

I need to know on the frame where the handles go there is a tab turned 90 degrees that acts as a stop for the handles. Is that tab turned to the inside of the tub or outside of the tub. If you have a picture to post it is helpful also.

The tab is toward the inside.

Well I am in a pickle. My frames when I bought them did not have any skins so I made them fit and the tabs are outside. I see no evidence that they were ever moved and am going to have to figure out how to move the upper pins so the doors will fit without damaging my skins. A great mystery for the ages

Here was a picture I took thinking this was correct but as you can see it doesn't allow for door to close as the top hinge pin hits the channel. The tab is inside but no indication of any welding done to I assumed it was for the drivers side

This is each side I fitted based on pin being correct and allowing door to close

I can't figure out how it ever could have been installed the way of the first pic.

Those look like late CJ-2A door frames.

I was told they were early 3 a frames so that might be the issue. How was the upper socket on a 2a different? I thought with the shorter windshield a 2a couldn't even fit a 3a. Just an assumption on my part

The upper hinge pin on a CJ-3A points up. This photo from Walcks is late CJ-3A door frames, but the hinge pins are the same as early CJ-3A door frames.

Well that explains a lot. I will have a custom hybrid door then.
