Scratches head on this one. What is going on here? What hole "should" it go in? What hardware is needed to mount this?  And the blocks r way off too? How do I fix this? Something isn't right here. Plz advise. {if u recall this one had a 2A w/s on it}

You have the spacer pieces.  You are missing the pivot brackets.  There is a left side bracket and a right side bracket.
Not the best photos, but you’ll sort of see them.  Below the photo is a link to another discussion, and a link to the 3A style bracket offered by Walcks.

Thank you, Tim. I remember seeing the brackets u mention & the other parts. I hope I still can find all of them. Not likely that those legs got bent in, is it? Seems awful tight in there. U can c where I scratched my paint job up.

It is pretty tight depending on how you're bringing it in to install it.  I have found a fairly easy way to hook one up without damaging the paint.  If you bring the shield in from the front, the tub is more narrow.

Loosely install the spacers and brackets to the tub.  Lay a blanket over the hood.  Use a blanket large enough to fall over the tub edge where the shield arms are mounted.  Carefully lay the shield on the blanketed hood.  The shield should be resting on the hood blocks, as if it's been flipped down.  Move the shield position so one arm can be bolted to the bracket.  Loosely bolt this side, then go to the other side.  Position the final arm and bolt it up.

Flip it up to make final adjustments, then tighten the mounting bolts.

It is unlikely the arms are bent in, but I suppose it could happen.  It's hard to measure the distance between the arms while the shield is installed.  I measured a spare.  46-3/8".  I can't verify this is accurate, but this shield was installed on one of my Willys when I brought it home.

Hopefully this helps a little.

Tim

Tri,
You have the spacers.  They are the rectangle pieces with ribs shown in your photos.  They are ribbed to increase friction between the pivot brackets and the tub.

The bolts used to mount the spacer and pivot brackets are 5/16" x  1-1/4".

It holds...and act as a hinge for the doors used with soft tops.  It's a 'continuation' of the channel on the edge of the windshield.

Oh...good. Then I have all the parts. I just need to find another pair of hands. That w/s is heavy!  Not sure... but it seemed to me that with w/s lain down...no way it was gonna reach those blocks. Could b an angle issue here though. We'll c.  TY

I am happy to report that the windshield is installed (thnx to the help I got). Roll bar was put back in also (& yes I remember, some of u don't like 'em. As u probably noticed, I did bad on taking mine apart & did not "bag & tag". So, now I need help on getting the grill back in. What mounting hardware am I looking for in all my lil bags of goodies? I need to know how many, what they look like, how long, what size, & such. Thnx & I do apologize for my rookie mistakes.
