	Also, I found the dot on the small gear but not the big gear. Is there any other way to figure out how to put it back in???

	Can not stress enough I'm not a mechanic. Lol the timing gear was backwards! Whoops. Also found the dot by counting teeth on pics that show it. Starter is shot. Dropped it off to get rebuild. Let you know if she turns over tomorrow!

	SSG, The air sound you're hearing is created by the piston movement when you hand turn the engine. You're okay. Tim

	Thanks Tim. Should get the starter back tomorrow or next day. Do anybog you have a picture of your carb? Having trouble remembering where how the cables went and lost the phone that had the pics. Another question, what type of oil do you guys run? Thanks for all the help guys.

	I run 20w-50. It has the zzdp additive that the old flat tappet cams need for proper lubrication. The throttle cable goes down low on the carb by the exhaust manifold. The choke is up at the top. Hopefully someone will post a better picture of the cable clamps on the carb.

	That's always a tough photo to get unless that's what you're after. This is the best I came up with. The top clip holds the choke cable. The bottom clip holds the throttle cable... I was running with the same set up G-gnome uses. I recently went to the Rotella-T 15w 40. It's an oil designed for diesel engines and it already has a good amount of ZDDP (zinc) in it. I like it so far. Tim

	Mine isnt on the road yet but im running John Deere 30w oil. Its rated for older diesel engines so it should have zinc in it.

	OK so she cranks over but no spark. The coil has both green and black wires. Should the positive be coming from the distributor or is that the negative. With the cap off should rotor spin when I try to start?

	The wire from the ignition switch should be on the "+" pole and the distributor wire should be on the "-". Check your markings.
