After market fenders

Hello to all.  I'm new as a member, but have enjoyed and used this site for some time.  Thanks to all for their contributions and stories.

I'm in the process of an entire rebuild of a 1949 CJ3A.  I've completed all chassis and mechanical now and ready to start working on the body.   I'm planning to fix/use the current tub, windshield frame, grill and tailgate.   However, the fenders are beyond repair.   I'd like to know if anyone has currently purchased new after market fenders that actually fit: and if so, from whom?   I gather MD is probably the only manufacturer out there, but which distributor likely has the newest stock?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Steve

Hi Steve,
Welcome to the 3A.  As you have probably read, fitment of the fenders can be troublesome.  If I were you, I would make the call to the vendors and insist on a New Stock fender set. Use the more trust worthy suppliers like D&L Besinger, Walcks, Ron Fitzpatrick, Kaiser, etc.  Note that it may take longer to get them, but it may be worth the wait.   An eBay guy isn't probably a good choice on this purchase.

I know Rommel Juan is trying to get all of this stuff right, but even with a new stock fender, you may still have to make adjustments.

Good luck...and show us your 3A when you get some time.

Tim
