Damn! They just keep multiplying! This is a circa 1910 8 cycle Aermotor, used to pump water when the wind wasn't turning the windmill. It has a broken rocker arm, but a new recast one came with it. I just have to machine it and age it.

It is a regular 4 stroke engine but it has 2 extra miss cycles built into the cam gearing. Note how the crank gear and cam gear are a 4:1 ratio instead of 2:1. It is a hit and miss engine. They did the 8 cycle thing to help with cooling it.

Randy, this engine doesn't need a pump jack. It has one built into it. That is what the gear is for in the last picture with the 3 holes.

Shows you what I know....I didn't even know these things existed until you posted the pictures....I'm still trying to wrap my head around that 8 cycle thing...I saw the video, heard one run...just when you think it's going to quit altogether it fires again...
