Thermostat Spacer

This engine had a brass spacer as you can see.....all the repro's I see offered for sale look to be formed sheet metal of some sort with a slit in the side....

Is this one original or is it something someone made and added along the way?

1 13/16"high, small opening is 1 5/8" and the large end is 2 1/8"

I ask because the original style thermostat that i have does not fit....

The thermostat may be wrong....it is a Fulton model 30 175 degree

I plan to use a modern thermostat anyway.....and they seem to fit fine....

All the ones I've seen are sheet metal. That thermostat looks like an original that I have.

I used a piece of SS tubing for the spacer to hold the thermostat against the header.
