windshield doesn´t rest

I have a consultation, is the case that my CJ3A of 1950 when bending the windshield doesn't rest  over the wooden supports that are in the hood and don't I understand why, somebody would can to give me some idea?

Edit by Admin
I've re-sized all the pics in this thread to 800 wide so they can be seen by everybody. Also made the file size much smaller for those on dial-up. Hope this helps.

Somebody could have put the wooden supports in the wrong spot. How far from the end of the hood are they? Can you post a picture?

Where does it rest?   A little more info would help.

Nice jeep!

Could it be that the windshield is bent or raked back too much?

When you lay it down does the part near the hinge hit first before the top f the windshield touches the blocks?

It doesn't seem to be bent and when I bend it the first part that it rest over the hood it is the part of the ventilation window, then it cannot bend more, not yet I have a picture that shows it, but I have found this in the forum where it show a willys to which doesn't rest the windshield the same as to mine.

Hello, again bothering, this day I takes him some pictures to my CJ3A and I could check measures of the wooden blocks and their location, I go up the pictures so that you can appreciate it, the dimensions of the blocks that I have are 11.2x3.8x4 centimeters of high, both are located at the same distance of the hood center (33 cm) and to 3.5 centimeters of the hood edge, I understand that starting from the CJ3A this is therefore the wipers they already go located in the low part from the windshield contrary to the previous models where were up and for that reason it was necessary to put the blocks at different distances, I also find that the blocks of the CJ3A are more high that those of the other ones, I will thank a lot if somebody can give me a small drawing with the correct dimensions for the CJ3A, it could send this way them to make since I know a good carpenter, I wait their comments, greetings.

The blocks I have are reproductions, they are:

11.8 cm long

5.5 cm high

2.6 cm thick

Does that help?

Can you adjust your hinge points so the windshield lays flat in relation to the hood?

Also, can you make your pictures smaller? They are huge on my screen and hard to view..

Good luck!
