Today after work, I stopped by my friend's shop (he is an older fellow and can't crank it over, so he enlists some young dumb kid to start it  Grin) and gave him a hand with starting his recently finished project, a 5HP Hercules hit and miss engine. It is a real sweet running engine!

Hey Nate - I was going thru some old pics from when I lived in Asia and found these. It's a hit and miss engine that I saw on Pulau Ubin in Singapore. The engine was still very much in use pumping water from some mystery source to the house. It's a crummy pic but you can see how they were using a big Castrol Oil drum as an improvised muffler. Any make or model that you recognize?

Looks like a diesel, maybe English or something. Nothing that I've seen.
