Playing in the dirt

This has been my project for the past week or so. My dad brought our CAT 311 up to our new property we bought last year. It is 40 acres and was logged 2 years ago. We brought our mini excavator in last year and cleared two logging road on it, the upper one and the lower one. This go around, I'm pulling stumps, fixing water issues and putting in deer feed plots. The lower logging road was put in 50 years ago when it was first logged. That is a real nice road. When they logged the past time, they didn't use it, so it stayed pretty nice.

I'm fixing up these roads because there is a lot of good logs still there and we want to bring our firewood processor in. It would be bad if it sunk out of sight... Undecided

This is also why I want to make the '49 a forest service type of rig.  Wink

Some water breaks.

A pond I dug that is fed by a huge spring.

This thing used to be a wicked mud hole. Now it is pretty dry.

One feed plot.

Another trail I cleared.

Yep, the country sure is fun! Go camping when I want, four wheeling and just have fun! Shopping and movies just isn't my thing.  Wink
