So I walked into the wrecking yard and asked the owner....  "got any jeep brakes?"
And I was unable to answer the flood of questions.

What yearsand what models of jeeps can supply the correct 11 drums
For my 49 cj3a?

How do you speak "junkyard"?

Tough being just a rancher...

Willys Trucks/Wagons have them. Also, intermediate CJ5s too, the ones produced from 72-75. Even wagoneers and jeep trucks from the 70s work. Just make sure they are 5 lug and not 6. I would try to find something from the AMC era because they use the modern adjusters instead of the cam style like on your 9" brakes.

You can still get new cam adjusters. I just got some. I found the 11" X 2" shoes at my local carQuest store. Walcks had has most of the parts. I'm a retired rancher too so I know how you feel. Not too many folks speak fluent Rancher. Grin I checked and Walcks has new 11" drums. Having a photo of you're backing plates may help. The Car Quest part number I found for 11" drums is 8753 for both front and rear. They are about 25.00 each cheaper than others I have mentioned. Wink Roll Eyes
