What is the easiest way to differentiate a 3a windshield from a 3b?

The difference is quite obvious. 3As are taller with a vent in the middle.

3B doesn't have the three small panels at the bottom, with the center one hinged to open on a 3A.(M38 used the same panel but bolted it shut..) It is shorter in that area too, to make up for the higher cowl.

The DJ used both the 3A and 3B style windshields, depending on what was ordered, The sporty convertible model normally used the 3B frame. The Surrey used the higher frame which raised the top a bit  for more room.

By the way the windshield in my avatar is closest to the 3B one but it is not a stock windshield for any jeep. It was custom built from a fixed hardtop windshield and does not lay down.

That's a beautiful 3B Nate. I didn't know you were busy restoring that one I had up there..It turned out very nicely.  Grin

It wasn't too bad. Only took me a week to do it.  Cool The NY rust comes off easier than MA rust. Now can I send you my bill?  Grin
