So....how do you use the 3A page???

I've been wondering how the rest of you guys view the 3A page.. I tend to visit several times a day, usually just go to view new posts and see what the latest is. However, nowadays we seems to have too much activity for me to see all the new posts that way.

It looks like we have several guys like me who start their day with the 3A, then move on. Others visit every evening, some wait till the wife is in bed and they sneak down to the kitchen for a midnight snack and 3A fix.....then.. there are those who live in faraway lands who visit in the wee hours of the morning.

So....what's your habit like?   Do you go to
o each board and look at every new post? Are you showing up just to see what is happening, and never post? (I se a lot of folks drop in and never post..) Do you spend your time on the rest of the website? Or are you like one individual I know who spends his time adjusting  a certain avatar?  Shocked Grin

I wish I could figure out how to view the new posts without limiting it to 10. So far I have not found that part of the admin settings anywhere. (John, Nate, Pascal do you know?)

(I almost forgot to mention the overseas spam mills that spend their every waking moment attempting to log in with bogus names and passwords. Unfortunately that is the large majority of the clicks on the 3A forum. )

Thanks for any input.....we will use it to decide where to go from here with the forum, or to stay right the way we are..

By the way, I know John always asks folks to put their location in their profile. When you post, there is no automatic location transfer to a post given by the software we use. If you don't mind, please also put your general location either in your text under your avatar or in your signature at the bottom of your posts. It isn't mandatory but it is helpful to those replying and often there are jeepers nearby who are more able to help out with parts needed or even lending a hand in some cases.  You can access what you need to change it by viewing your profile and clicking MODIFY.

Thanks guys! (and gals)

I use the site just to annoy you Bill...  Grin

I like to help with tech issues, write FAQs and tell people they are doing a good job with their projects.

I go between 2A and ECJ5 sites to put my $.02 in now and then. More on the 2A page now.

Click on profile, modify, enter password, options, then enter the URL where it says "I have my own pic"

No wonder why you need me...  Grin

Well . . .
Being the Registration Moderator (sounds kind of important, doesn't it?) I check in every morning of the work week. Rarely on weekends.
Since I don't own a 3A (go figure) I'm not usually looking for anything specific, just soaking up general knowledge to help me with my other Jeeps. Lots of cross over information between 2A, 3A, 3B, Wagons and Trucks.

Bill, I'm not sure what you're referring to about a 10 post limit, I just scroll down the front page and watch the color of the check marks - orange = "new posts since last visit". I keep the front page fully expanded so I can see all the inner forums in each section. I enter each forum area and read the new stuff. That way I see each new post in context. I need the context since I'm visiting at least three old Jeep forums each day.

I read stuff that has no practical application for me, mostly for the fun - like GGnome's tractor.
I don't get out much so I guess this is my "social network" - kind of lame, huh?  Roll Eyes

Maybe you should get a 3A! You can do dual carb mods to them and deck them out in chrome!  Cool

If you go to the front page and go down to the bottom there is a latest post link and a last ten posts of this forum link. That's the one I meant.

I hear you can also put huge FORD motors in the 3A. Like the really cool motor from a Pinto.  However I do not know if it is actually possible to complete one in under a decade.

Truly, I'd like another old Willys but it would have to be a 2A.
I'd like to dress a 2A in Army trim to take my Dad on parades.
We've done a couple in my red 3B but it doesn't quite fit the Army motif too well.  Smiley

That thing was at a show I was at. Yeah, the owner was as weird as the jeep! The tranny was back 2 ft from where it usually is too... I think it was a pinto engine. It was a Ford product.

I'll be heading out to the garage as soon as I finish lunch.

I get up and check in here to look at what folks are ranting about and if I can help others out of their troubles and look at all the milarky going on.  That gets me a few laughs.  Late at noght too to see what went on during the day if I get a chance.  I have a 2a but they are so much alike that the symtoms are the same .  I am the guy that stops along side of the road to help you out.  Smile and move on telling you to do the same for some one else.
I like to see what is for sale ane what is wanted  in case I spot something somewhere.  I do not sell what I took off of mine as I may want to get it back to 6v or if I need repairs I have it.  I have not driven mine but 4 blocks in 11 years   and the squirrels decided that my new seats were for their nests  so I moved it into its own garage.  I will repair the seats when I have the time.  Not a big deal.

I peak in 2 or 3 times a day.  Sometimes I log in...sometimes I don't.  I'm always looking for new content, hoping to either learn new things, or help someone if I can.

This is, by far, my favorite site! Smiley

Absolutely!  You and all the folks that spend time here are the reason for my #1 rating.

-The newer members ask great questions.
-The older members have great answers and have a genuine desire to help.
-There are never snide exchanges with nasty undertones.  (Small egos.)
-The 3A is a rare gem.  This site honors it very well.
