I've seen that Jeep and it is a nice survivor. Here is where you will see the value of original vs restored.

If you read the Q&A's at the bottom of the ebay listing the seller states he has a legit offer from Belgium in the mid $30k range. You'd have a hard time selling two nicely restored Jeeps for that. Unbelievable. What a treasure.

Different strokes for different folks.. Add the money exchange issues in there and it was just about a given it was going to go overseas.

It would be really difficult for me to own a survivor and leave it alone. I 'd see rust (patina for the in crowd) and want to fix it and before you know it I'd have the jeep painted.

But, if you have one it is so cool to know that it has never been worked on or restored since new other than maintenance. and you are looking at all original parts.  Whether it is $31,000 worth I dunno. Just ask the gas monkey guys about originality and pricing. ....The don't seem to mind cutting up a patina ride. Altho they did save a 38 Ford the other day and kept original looking interior and didn't even flat black paint it this time for a change.

It would be tough (for me, anyway) to pay all that money and then not really be willing to drive it.
