	I've been working on this little project. I got this nice tailgate off a junker 3B (the only good body part) so I sandblasted it and repainted it. Still have to do the 4WD stencil and footman loops. I'm going to hang it up in my room. I really like this green. I might paint the '49 it.... I hand painted the wiillys stamping today. This green and white scheme looks awesome!

	Looks good Nate. What did you use for paint for the Willys stamping? I did mine in marker as a test to see if I would like it.....and I do...very much. Now I need to clean it off and paint with something more permanent.

	Rustoleum, a fine brush and a steady hand. I did a better job with the painting on my '53. The clear coat on the paint made the paint go on much easier. I painted the tailgate with a bug bomb.

	Rustoleum right over the clearcoat? Did you have to scuff it up or do any other prep work first?

	Yep, right on the clear, no scuffing or anything. I've waxed over it a few times too, so that might help protect it. I think I did this 2 years ago? Maybe even 3. I would practice on the tailgate since you can easily remove it and lay it flat. I had to wipe the paint off a letter a couple times to get it just right. That's one nice thing about the clear, makes it easy to wipe off the wet paint.

	I've got the rest of that green tub down here for you to finish. Then you can install the V6, Dana 44, etc. as long as you have started. I won't even charge ya to use the spare bedroom.

	I got the footman loops in today, but the stencil is being a real PITA. Now I know why I hate stencils. So, I ordered some decals instead. Anyone have some good tips on making the stencil come out good?

" It helps to cut small holes in the stencil about 3/8"x1" +- in between and around the letters and lines. then use masking tape to cover each hole and "pull" the stencil down tight to the sheet metal. Those little rare earth magnets would probably work too. After taping off the rest of the gate, prop one edge up a couple inches and spray 2 or 3 light coats at a 90'angle. I would guess the original factory workers didn't lose any sleep over a little bit of over spray or "creep"
