Timing mark

I have  a Hesse Hornet air compressor . These are basically a L134 Jeep engine running on 2 cy's and pumping air on the other 2.   I want to check timing and note there is a "pointer" on the block right over the front pully with a T  and 5.  OK, TDC and 5 degrees before TDC, I assume.  Now I need a mark on the pulley --BTW it is a double pulley, although only on is used for the governor --no alt or gen.  There is a small V notch on the inside pully.  Is this the mark I  need to time it?  thanks

If it's not broke, it's
not used.
