Due to medical bills, Cancer, I must sell my best friend my 1968 Jeepster Commando and a Bantam style Jeep trailer

This rig is set up to tackle the Rubicon or Moab while still providing good road manors. A great deal of patience and time was used to give this Jeepster off-road reliability, capability, and strength while maintaining good stopping, steering, and handling at freeway speeds. Though this is a turn key rig, there is still room for personal touches.
Rig has around 4Kmikes on it.

RIG'S SUSPENION IS A SPRING UNDER AXLE SYSTEM

Below is a high light list of what this vehicle and trailer has.

BODY, EXTERIOR, AND INTERIOR:

Fiberglass front fenders and hood W/scoop. '72/'73 commando windshield--giving larger defroster ducts. Late CJ round headlight grille was used. Added the "Jeepster" ears to the grille. Rear fender wells have been cut for wider/taller tires. Bushwacker CJ wide flares were installed front and rear. Comes with a full hard top, custom full length bikini top, and an excellent condition Kayline style top and If found, a CJ bikini top.  Jeepster is flat black in color, inside & out.

Has a 2" custom body lift.

Has a Kayline spare tire/fuel can carrier that has been upgraded to hold a "35 tire and still have a fuel can holder. The spare tire mounts to a D-44 spindle, hub, rotor, and locking hub assembly, thus giving a spare "front hub assembly." Inside of the carrier holds a axe, shovel and air hose.

Custom quick disconnect cargo rack. Rack's bottom lifts out and turns into a camp table. It also has a removable bracket the can hold a 5 gallon round water jug.

Three hoop family cage bar---PT cruiser front seats. Passenger seat "folds & tucks" just like the stock pass. Jeepster seat. Has one after-market bucket seat mounted in rear pass. side area.

P.O. installed after-market instrument panel and gauges. Has an array of accessory switches where the radio speaker was -- ARB style rocker switches.

New glove, rebuilt heater assembly--put in a three speed fan heater motor

FRONT END AREA:

'78 Cherokee D-44 front diff. that was cut down to use stock axles...no custom axles! Uses early bronco D-44 long shaft and waggie short shaft. 4:88 gears, ARB, GM style disc brake system, 1 ton tie rods and tubes, high lift steering arms that were designed so that the tie rod link bolts up underneath the arm instead of on top. Drag link sits almost perfectly horizontal.

ram assist steering assembly with a high pressure P/S pump. P/S fluid stays cool with its own fan & radiator. Has a steering box brace---passenger side frame to str. box nose. The frame has been strengthened for extra durability around the str. box. Steering column is from a '72 commando. Steering shaft and universal joints have been up-graded. Has a nice Grant steering wheel

The 1 3/4" front springs and mounting brackets were removed and replaced with 2 1/2" custom progressive Jeepster springs and after-market HD CJ spring mounting brackets. New springs used Jeepster specs, and the CJ mounting brackets were welded at the stock locations and height. The new springs give about a 4"/5" lift. U-bolts have been flipped for better clearance. Also custom made stabilizer bar with quick disconnects. Rancho 9000 shocks

ENGINE:

1978 Buick 350 that was bored 20 over. TAPerformance alum intake manifold, TAP timing/oil pump case w/ enlarged oil passages, TAP oil pump gear kit, and a TAP torque cam. Quadrajet carb, HEI dist., Carb & dist. were dialed in on a dyno. Carb is jetted on the lean side for high elevations. Motor is balanced. Due to todays fuel, the motors compression was held at 7 3/4 to 1. A flowkooler Hi Flow water pump and thermostat was also installed. useses a 19" steel fan. Specs -- 275HP 365 lbs of torque.

TRANS:

Rebuilt TH-400 with a low kit and HD low stall converter, a 16" Lokar shifter, and a Novak D-300 x-fer adapter. Trans fluid stays cool with its own fan & radiator.

ALSO COMES WITH A NEWLY REBUILT 700R4 with off-road up-grades. HD low stall converter W/lock out. New filler tube, shift cable kit, Lokar shifter, and converter lock out switch (5th gear?). A Transdapt Motor/ trans adapter is also included. Plus it has a 700R4/ D300 Novak adapter.

X-FER CASE:

Dana 300 with a 4-1 kit. Installed HD out-put shafts and yokes and has a twin stick shifter kit.

REAR END AREA:

D-44 rear diff. W/ARB, 4:88 gears. 11" drum brakes. Custom shock mounts, Rancho 9000 shocks, Custom stabilizer bar with quick disconnects.

23 gal gas tank W/skid plate

Both Pivot spring brackets have been beefed up

Shackles and frame brackets were up-graded

Custom progressive 2 1/2" Jeepster springs--5+" lift, after-market shackles, U-bolts have been flipped for better clearance. Custom rear bumper W/ receiver hitch and D rings.

It's sad that you don't have choice to sell it. Take care.
