Log in problem

I figured this spot may the best place to put this for everyone to see it. Every since I started using the this new site I can't stay logged on. If I leave the site to go to another site when I come back I have to log in. I have tried everything I can think of and all my other sites that I have to log in work just fine. This is the only site that drops me out.

Is the site not recognizing me and why not?

Is anyone else having this problem?

Also, has the other site been blocked so no one can post on it? If not it should be.

Carl,

As far as I know, people can no longer even get to the other site as of last night.
I get a" page not found "when I try to go there.

If anyone has any ideas on the logout issue, I am out of ideas for Carl. He is accessing the site thru the Google toolbar if that makes any difference.

Also if you have login issues let me know in this thread too, please. At the moment Carl is the only person who seems to have this problem, which points to it being a problem at his end. I could be wrong, and I will ask Dave about it as well.

Carl if you are reading this you need to use a different password to sign on...use the four letter word meaning fun off road vehicle  and then you can change it back in you settings...

I've had the problem of not staying logged on the old forum ever since I switched to using Firefox a while back.  Never did get it resolved.  It is exactly the same now with this new forum.  On the old forum, if I went back and opened up Internet Explorer it did keep me logged in as it did before.

I'm here Bill, I still have to log in using the password you gave me before. It works why change it. Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one with the problem. It's not like it's a killer issue but it's just a little troublesome.

I think it's getting worse now. I logged in and it said I have 1 message so I clicked on the message and it was from Bill yesterday but it said it was from today. So I clicked on the CJ3A Forum Home and it automatically logged me out. I then logged in again and it said I still have 1 message. Well, I'm not falling for that foolish trick again or I will be logging in and out all day.

I even hard wired the 'puter into the internet line and it still won't keep me logged on.

Can we go back to the old site, at least it kept me logged in?

If you have Firefox take a look at this.. Similar fixes may work for Explorer.

Bill, I just noticed something that may help your friend diagnose the problem. When I click on the link to open the site it tells me to log in. When I click on the login button and the login page opens then at the top is says hello Carsjeep and tells me I have one unread PM. That shows up BEFORE I even login. Something must be happening at that point in the site settings because it only happens on this site.

Bill, this is screwy as hell. I didn't log in when I came to the site. At the top is says hello guest, please sign in but I didn't. I went to the TECH forum and read my thread about the yoke issue and at the bottom it gave me the standard options to reply so I tried and it worked. After I posted it now reads and the top that I am logged in as Carlsjeep.

Tell the site tech man about that and see what he says.

So, you got my PM and tried to post without logging on did you? And it worked did it? Bill hasn't replied to my question about this yet.

Perhaps Bill can put that method in some kind of warning when someone joins if they can't fix the site.

This is an idea that will probably not help at all, but are you running the new version of Firefox?    http://view.e.mozilla.org/?j=fef31d76726006&m=fe9915707361037e75&ls=fe521179706c...

They just updated to 14.0.1 and it seems to be working well.  They have a feature now in the "troubleshooting" section they call their "reset button" so that you can reset to what appears to be a default mode for a while.  At least you are able to help ascertain if the problem is on the Firefox end or somewhere else.  Computers, right???
