Anyone know what happened to Larry? He use to post on here all the time and now I see he hasn't been to this sight in 3 months. He's still posting on the  2A sight.
Huh

Not much action here. I post mostly on the CJ2 site also. It's not that I want to post more there, it's just more is going on there. I guess there are more CJ2's being worked on and restored than CJ3's right now.

If you look at Rocketeers last few posts, he seemed to be quite agitated.  Perhaps he lost his patience with us less informed Jeep lovers.  I miss his posts and help.

I am afraid I agree with athawk 11.  I think he felt unappreciated by one or two of the newer members who were questioning his knowledge.  I hope he does know how much most of us old-timers appreciated his knowledge, experience, and all the excellent sources he had at his fingertips.  Hopefully he checks in occasionally.

I checked and the last time he posted was 9/28/11 about the steering knuckles with Frank. The last time viewing the site was 10/04/11. I guess he got tired of Frank. I wish he hadn't let the disagreement bother him so much. Differing opinions should not cause someone to leave. The fact that someone wants to do it their way even if it's wrong should not cause a person to quit posting. Larry is pretty knowledgeable and all he has to do is post the correct way to do things and let it go at that. If someone posts something wrong it's not really his problem, it's only a problem for someone that may use the wrong method and no one has control over that. Even then, the correct way was posted and should have been followed.

People will do things that in their mind is right even though it may be wrong but nothing can be done about it. They may even post incorrect things but as long as the correct way is posted the knowledge is available.

Larry is a resource we don't need to loose.

Hey Larry, nice to see you post. I was concerned that Frank had made you mad and you wouldn't post again here.

Hi Larry,

It's nice to see you stopped in.

I'm not an 'oldtimer' (couple years), but the fact is, this site is better when you offer your perspective and knowledge.

Don't get me wrong, there are really smart and helpful people here.  (I would list all the people on this site that have helped me learn and understand the Willys Jeeps, but I would be afraid I would leave someone out.)

I will say this again...I would have never attempted to do what I have done without the help that you and others have offered.  And isn't that what this is ultimately about?  Sharing what we know to hopefully resque another Flatfender, one Willys at a time.

Got a cup of coffee here for you Larry, cream or sugar?  Oh, you may have to get it yourself, I'm under the jeep! Grin LOL
