Bantam T3-C trailer alert

I have no affiliation with this trailer, just posting a notice if someone wants to go grab it.

This T3-C was seen in the flea market area at the Blue Mountain Gas and Steam Engine Assoc. show at the Jacktown Groove near Bangor PA today. It's rough but appears to be complete including the full floating axle and the landing leg. They had a price of $100 marked on it. The show will run for two more days, Sat July 16th and Sun July 17th, 2011 so scoot on over.

The Royal Norwegian Army and The Royal Norwegian Air Force have used these trailers until now. Last year the Norwegian society for historical military vehicles got the opportunity to buy the trailers. They are a mix of Bantam and Willys trailers. All together 311 trailers...

The end user sertificate specifies that it is illegal to export them out of Norway. Only members of the society are alowed to buy them, and the society must remain as a part owner of the trailer. The prices were very friendly, so the members often bought more than one.

They were last used behind the Mercedes Benz MB240 GD Geländewagen which is the standard "jeep" in the Norwegian Defenses now. Since all Norwegian army vehicles use 24V, the trailers were converted to 24V with a new tail light bar.

More photos (they are not taken by me):

Kristaga; those are great photos. Is the "flatfender" in the last picture a Mercedes?

No, the flatfender is a flatfender, either a Willys MB or a Ford GPW.

The Mercedes 240GD looks like this:

I have found all the photos on the forum of The Norwegian Society for Historical Military Vehicles. None were taken by me.

Hope those Norwegian MVPA guys take advantage of the opportunity to restore those Bantam trailers. They all look like they are in decent condition compared to what is available here in the States.

Jeeps are like potato chips. It's hard to stop at just one!
