Oh, I knew they made motorcycle tires, they are actually quite popular as cheapie replacements for my other hobby; 2WD Russian sidecar motorcycles. I just didn't know they made an NDT type tire.

Bob,

When you look it square from the side you can see the body doesn't quite fit right over the wheels but it's acceptable.  I'll know more about the mounting techniques as I remove the body to make it more solid.

Mud Pie,  I saw one of those russian sidehacks down in Fla last winter....It's some kind of BMW knockoff isn't it?

Sure is. There are several theories about the origin of the Ural sidecar motorcycles. Some say the Russian reverse engineered the popular German BMW before the war (1939), some say the Germans sold them their outdated tooling.  In either case, they have BMW style boxer engines and similar frames.  To the untrained eye, they look indentical.  The russians have made minimal changes in the rigs since 1939, which add to their character.

There are several Uralists in Florida, I'm sure you ran into one of them !

The rigs are as much fun to ride as our beloved Willys, and they go just as fast !!
