Hello everyone.
I have a 1951 CJ-3A. it was orginally owned by the city of Stratford as a parks and rec vehicle then my grandfather who worked for the city bought it for our neighbor who had it for 40 years and then when it stopped working to tow his boat around their property he gave it to me. this was almost 5 years ago and unfortunately its been sitting idle while I moved around a lot. now I am finally in one place and am looking to get this jeep back running.
It is anything but original but I will at least try and make it look more original. currently is has a Pontiac 5.0 V8 under the hood. there is a new gas tank placed under the "trunk" and the steering column has been replaced with one from a Chevy truck from the 70s. It's sitting on new wheels and tires that are 31x9.5 however I do have the original wheels and original natural rubber tires. there are several rust holes throughout the jeep as its in Canada and its over 50 years old.
First order of business is getting the motor running and fixing the brakes which were the reason it was parked in the first place. from there body work will commence and hopefully I can get legal enough to be plated and back on the road.
