Hello from the Black Hills of SD!
« on: February 02, 2014, 02:25:10 PM »
Thought I'd join you guys here as well. I'm John Trumpe in the beautiful Black Hills of western SD. I already know several of your members, so I know when to duck.  FBill got me hooked up. Thanks Bill! I also met Gunslinger a few days ago when he stopped in to visit. I have several  Jeeps and one is a '49 CJ3A. I'm the local president of the SDFFC and I hold a annual meet here in June. This years meet is the 14th and 15th. I already have fellows coming from here, Canada, Wyoming, Illinois, Colorado and possibly Iowa. It will take me a little while to get up to speed here, so bear with me. Thanks, John

Glad to see you here John. Out of curiosity what part of the black hills, I spent 2 1/2 years in the Hot Springs area.

Hello James, and thanks for all the kind responses. I live just outside of Whitewood which is between Sturgis and Spearfish. That's in the northern Black Hills. Not far from just about anywhere in the Black Hills. Hot Springs is South of me about 98 miles. I 'm back up a canyon along Whitewood Creek which flows down from Deadwood. 2 miles from I-90. Allot of Gold has been mined above me. I had to get a Willys Jeep to haul out the pounds of Gold nuggets just laying in the creek!  ;) John
