New guy from MO
« on: December 30, 2013, 01:34:57 PM »
Hello everyone,
I have been a fan of this site for a while. It has been invaluable source of information, advise and humor. I have a 1953 CJ3A, 16309, that my daughter named Penny, and a 1949ish CJ2A/3A jeep salad named BoB. (Bucket of Bolts). Penny is a driver and BoB is a project. I am having my cake and eating it too!

We bought Penny in Louisiana in March this year. Long trek from STL but worth it. Mostly original and in good shape. We drove her and tinkered all summer and we're getting ready for some maintenance and fixes.

BoB was local and sitting for 20+ years outside under a deck. 90% complete and rusted together. More on that as I put it back together.

For now, my daughter and I work on the Jeep and drive it on nicer days. Great fun. Hopefully she'll drive it when she's 16.

Welcome to the site! I'm down in the bootheel of MO and it's good to see someone else from the Show Me State!

If you haven't already, make plans to attend the Midwest Willys Reunion in Jeff City in the fall. Its a good show and you can usually find lots of OEM parts!

Hey, that's good news. For a while they were saying there wouldn't be a Fall Reunion in 2014. Maybe I'll be able to make this one.

Welcome Craig. Hope to see you and Penney there. And maybe even some pieces of BoB.  ;)

It is my understanding that instead of a fall reunion there will be a late summer reunion in Effingham, Illinois. There is a thread on the 2A page about it but it is still in the planning stages, date is not cast in stone yet...Labor day weekend tentatively.

Thanks to everyone on the warm welcome.
We went to the last two Reunions in Jeff City. We had a great time. This year we were thinking of bringing Penny. Hope to put some faces to names. I do have a picture of BoB when we first got him. I have learned a lot from this Jeep and this forum. Still so much more to learn. Thanks again. Off to the garage to deal with a speedometer issue before the snow comes tonight.

I can't post a picture of the second Willys for some reason. I keep getting this....NOTE: If you had an Attachment in your post, you will need to reselect the Attachment again in the Browser Box for security reasons.

Any help from the veterans is much appreciated. Thanks

Welcome!

If you try to modify an existing post to add a picture, if the post had pictures attached already to it then you need to reattach them.
