Thanks for the add! I’ve always loved the look of the old flat fender Willys and their utilitarian nature. I’m new to the “club” but am working on a few projects. I’m working on a Kubota conversion on a 1949 CJ3A and then found a 1954 CJ3B that’s in pretty poor condition. I’ve tried posting a few pics but will have to get some better ones. Thanks!

Welcome, Forgefire --

I will reply to your OB question here, because the other thread has no Subject line so it's difficult to navigate.

I hope you will send me the details on your Jeep so I can add you to the list of surviving CJ-3Bs on the website CJ3B.info, and also to the list of OB owners on the page at https://cj3b.info/SerialNos/OB54SerialNos.html
Thanks. My e-mail address is at the bottom of every page on the website.

That page includes everything we currently know about OB serial numbers, which isn't much.  But you will see there is a lot of theorizing there, taken from discussions on the old CJ-3B Bulletin Board.  The big question is WHY the first batch of 1954 3Bs were given these odd, hand stamped numbers.

To my knowledge there has not been a sale that indicates an OB number increases the value of a Jeep. So far at least, it appears to be little more than a curiosity.
