Walcks Sold to Kaiser Willys
« on: April 07, 2023, 09:31:52 AM »
Went to place and order with Walcks today and their website directed me to the Kaiser Willys website. It appears that Carl has sold his business to Kaiser Willys.

Yeah, just read 3 pages of comments over on the 2A forum.  I guess this blind-sided everyone.   I'll miss ordering from him....

Added:

This whole thread may better fit in the Announcement section or Rambling section, but that's just my opinion.  I do think it's important to share this.

I know we're a bit on the quiet side here, but it's helpful to stay on top of things jeep related.  I noticed a post from one of the employees of KW on the 2A forum.   I thought it was relevant and wanted to ensure all our members can see this as well.

Copied from the 2A forum:

Quote from: Jason@KW
Hey everybody, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jason, I work for Kaiser Willys and I just wanted to sort of start a dialog with anybody who has any questions, concerns or anything regarding the merger with Carl. Carl is a great guy and we have had a relationship with him for 25+ years with a great relationship. Carl came to us when he had decided to retire. He was looking to spend more time with his grandkids so he came to Mike to see if there was any interest. I just wanted to reassure that all of the parts that Carl was selling will continue with Kaiser Willys. I am here to answer any questions, publicly, or privately regardless of content. My email is jason@kaiserwillys.com. Any concerns, we are always looking to create a better experience for the customer. I know what Carl meant to you guys, but Kaiser Willys is wanting to continue that.

FYI... KW has never been willing to recognize DJ3A's as a "part of the Willys family", even after I took pics and provided part-number research to them to try to convince them of a "missed market".  I wonder WHY Jason didn't also reach out to this great site which is involved with MORE than just CJ2As???

I bought most of the parts for my CJ3B restoration from Carl, I sure hope KW will continue to offer the same parts and service as he did, although this is probably my last restoration!
