Hello all,
My CJ3A has the gasoline percolation issue in the float bowl. I will run perfectly for about 20 minutes then just shut off. Let it cool off, good to go. The heat riser was stuck in the open position and I had my thought of how it worked backwards (thought it was stuck closed). I freed it up, the spring is working (checked all with a heat gun). Big improvement, but after about 40 minutes, same thing. The engine gasket set I used had a carb gasket of about 1/16". I don't think there is a vacuum leak, but it offers no insulation protection at all. I looked on line and the gasket sold by Walck's is about an 1/8" think with what looks like a metallic slice in the middle of the two sides of fiber. This is the one with the V shape metal defuser that installs down into the intake manifold. I will receive that on Tuesday and install. Anything else I should be looking for? Other than this, it runs perfectly.
