After I bought this 3a I found a engine and transmission that supposedly came out of a running 3a unattended was pulled out so the owner could drop in a 6 cylinder.
Every 6 months I would pull the plugs and put Marvel Mystery oil in. I’d leave the plugs out and turn the engine over by hand 8-10 revolutions to make sure everything stayed lubricated. I’m getting ready to put this engine in and had several questions.
This engine and transmission don’t look like the previous ones that came with the Jeep.
They are both 4 cylinder and T90 transmissions but the one going In doesn’t have a exposed flywheel.
The starter seems to be a push to start which I’ve never seen before.
I’ve drained the oil pain of all the oil. I had thought to mate the engine with the original transmission but wonder should I put the mated engine and transmission in as is?
As there any way I can jump the starter somehow to see if the starter will spin?
Thanks guys for any help you can be. I’ve always wanted a Jeep and after 65 years I have one. Pictures below
