My new baby's home!

Well....Got the new baby (cj3a) home this morning. If you haven't read my intro post, I bought a 1952 Cj3a about a week ago. My buddy has a car trailer, so had to wait until he had the time to pick it up.
As you can see in the pic, someone had turned it into a hunting vehicle, probably for a deer lease. I started removing the whole rear frame where the seats are. But spent most of the day working on the old auto lite starter. I finally figured out the push switch was so dirty and corroded, it wasn't making contact. So cleaned it all up the best I could and got the motor to turn over. I sprayed PD Blaster in all the cylinders for good measure and will wair until I get the new tune up parts, before I try and start it.

I'll add to this post as I progress on this sweet ride. Looking forward to jumping the mud puddles. Gonna name her the Puddle Jumper!

Well, I got it in the garage today. Had to pull the AMC Pacer out and put on the back burner. My plan is to get the jeep road worthy, so I can drive it while I'm working on the pacer.
As you can see, the back seat frame is off. I used my shop crane to lift it off.
There is a cross member (2nd photo) that I'm wondering if it's original, or some one added it with the seat frame.
Looks to me it is an add on, because the pipe looks like the same material used for the roll bar.

It appears to have been added as a footrest for the back seat occupants.

Never thought about that. I guess with the seats so far up, your feet couldn't reach the floor. Thanks for the insight. I guess I was just to excited to figure it out....LOL. Any hoo....it's coming off too.

Went to College Station today to check out some jeep parts. It's about 100 miles from the house. The guy has a huge warehouse, where he collects everything military, including tanks and vehicles. I found him on FB Market. I'm not on FB, but a friend lets me use her account to get on the market place. 

So....I found a good windshield frame, with a cracked windshield to boot, for 250.00. I also picked up the original seat frames. Some one fabricated some frames that were kind of hay wired together. I gave 100.00 for the drivers side, and 150.00 for the passenger. The driver side isn't quite right. The front right leg is a little different, but the other 2 holes are fine. There NOS. May do a little fabrication of my own.

I think for 500.00, I did pretty good.

The driver side seat frame appears to be from an M38.

Yes...I realized that when I got home and started looking at it. Next week I'll go back to college station, and exchange it for the right one.

I've made a little progress. I have the new gas tank in it. A new Master cylinder, however failed to replace the dist. block and compression washer, so it's leaking. Have new hardware oirdered. Today I heard it run for the first time. (about 10 sec)
It sounded pretty good. I still am soaking the tranny, so the shifter cover is still off, and tranny fluid was spitting everywhere. And I think the fuel pump is bad. For the 10 seconds it ran, I wasn't getting any fuel to the carb feed line.
I have the new steering wheel and horn button. The old one was a booger to get off. I ended up using a cutting wheel and cutting the side to get it off. The splne and threads look to be in great shape.

I was underneath it today, and realized the entire emergency brake assembly is missing. The handle is on the dash, but the cable has been cut by the transmission. I'm going to have to try and find a used one if I can, because ordering the whole assembly from a online parts store is going to be prohibitory expensive. Any suggestions?
