Hi everyone!
Just joined the forum, and looking forward to meeting you and discussing everything Jeep. Just purchased a 1952 CJ3a. Haven't even hauled it home yet. Doing it Tuesday. My buddy has a car hauler. It is in fairly good shape. The passenger side flooring leaves somewhat to be desired, but the rest is pretty solid. The motor is free, but I haven't tried turning it over yet. It has been sitting for eight years, so I'm going to pull the plugs and lube the cylinders a little in case there dried out. Maybe a little PB Blaster in each cylinder. The clutch and brake pedal are stuck, and I believe it's the pivot rod under the cab that's stuck.
My plans are to make it road worthy and just drive it. I'm in the middle of repairing a 1977 AMC Pacer wagon, so I want to get that finished before tearing in to deep on the Jeep. I've been bugging a guy for the last 10 years to let me buy his original owner 1956 Ford pick up truck. But he bought it new, and taught all his kids to drive in it, so it has sentimental value. I was on the other side of his property the other day, and stumbled across this Jeep.
I paid him 1700.00 for it. I think that was a pretty fair price.
P.S. I'll be taking the hunting seats and frame out.
