Heater 1963 CJ#B

Thank you in advance ,
1963 CJ3B Heater , can not pull heater down to free from factory placement , heater was ordered and installed at factory ,all screws taken out in the front , bracket at 11 pm unbolted , I have cut the two water  pipes back as they extended three inches past firewall into engine bay , any help would be much appreciated .

The 3B “fresh air” type heater is mainly attached via an angle that is screwed onto the edge of the dash panel.
Lay on your back and look straight up at it.

I’m having the exact same problem with my ‘64 heater. Screws removed, the angled metal removed. It still not drop down. Other ideas???

yes I did remove the angle , heater seams to be hung up in the back ,

This video of a Harrison "install" and 12V conversion too, says two thru the firewall mounts are used, with one located at the top mount of the air filter mount bracket location.  Maybe that is the culprit holding you up???  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADbPnCqJqbQ

Yes also had two bolts into firewall but I took it you had already removed those.

Thank you , heater was hung up on the fire wall , pipes had to be cut back an additional inch

Maybe this will help, an article I did on my fresh air heater for my 1964 CJ3B. I did have to remove the core inlet and outlet pipes completely.

does any one make parts for these heaters ? i saw herm makes a new metal wind sheild defroster unit, but no luck on a hose that goes from the heater to the defroster, or the switch.

Been a few years since this post but is there a brand name or model number for the cj3b heater?  no luck in finding one for my '62 CJ3B.  It came with a cj2a square heater but want an original.
