1962. 3b windshield info color an gasket placement

I’m getting ready for the Gettysburg mansion Dixon show in 2 weeks. I got glass for my b , the wind shield frame is black. Is it gloss or semi gloss ? I have found both as correct.

The wind shield gasket , does the seam go on top or bottom ?  The glass guy comes weds, so it will be final then.

 I have paint on the frame already an the gasket taped up. So I hope I’m right the way I have it 🥸

The manual specifies the locking strip goes in back (not front) but states for the weatherstrip, "Installation is obvious."  Not a whole lot of detail.  But, depending on which Service Manual (SM) you have , there are diagrams that help "infer" how the weatherstrip is installed.  The early SM has FIG 312.  The later SM has FIG T-2.  Both figures show a weatherstrip that is solid across the top.  This infers the seam is at the bottom.  The copying process doesn't have enough detail, but I'd guess an original manual might show the seam down at the bottom.

I would think that having the seam at the bottom would be better - in case it ever leaked.  But a little dab of RTV could be a good insurance policy.  It may not be necessary but I prefer not to have the lock strip seam lined up with the weatherstrip seam.  Off setting the two would make a better barrier.


Added:  Forgot to add, if new, I read the w/s frame would start out as gloss as I believe the rest of the body would be gloss when new.

However, I can't see where it would hurt to tone the shine down if needed - to match the body as it is now.

thanks, that's what i though for the gasket. the wind shield frame has scene better days so a semi gloss for now, the body is primmer. due to body work ,and many paint jobs over the years. good idea with the rtv

glass went in easy, the org gasket i got shrunk, so i got a new ....looks great hope to drive it more.  an get some miles on it so it's ready for spring trips to work. gotta get those wiper motors re done now.
