I think I have gone as far as I want to go on my JEEP. Having purchased the M38 I want to move forward with that project. That being said I am selling the DJ5. You can learn more than most ads by reading this link:
http://www.earlycj5.com/xf_cj5/index.php?threads/1970-u-s-army-dj5.123386/The DJ now has over 24,000 miles and is doing well. The good of this rig is most everything. I have worked all the gremlins out of pretty much everything.
The worst things I can find are:
- Rear main seal leaks - not really too bad.
Rear seal in the transmission leaks - it's not that bad either.
Fuel sending unit needs to be replaced.
Steering column bushing needs to be replaced at the steering wheel. Part included.
Minor bump steer or it could be the passenger tires.
Emergency brake needs to be repaired. It does not work and I have not really looked into the problem.
The only thing that won't go with the sale is the 16" rim with a rotten tire that is mounted on the side. I am working on getting a spare tire to replace it.
It's really much better than most things out there for sale for the price. PM me if you have interest or questions.
