Prop shaft flange u bolts mismatch

The Spicer 25 front axle in my CJ3A has been replaced with a 27A from a 1969 CJ5. Unfortunately the U bolt holes spacing on the prop shaft used with the 25 of 1-3/8" & 2-7/8" is not compatible with the U bolt spacing on the 27A pinion flange of 1-3/8" & 2-1/4"
Has anyone ever solved this mismatch, and How?  Part # and source(s)?  Thank you

You could change the small D27 input yoke to a 1310 yoke.

I could dig up the part number but....

Small D27 yokes were used with Dauntless engines and 3.73 standard or 4.88 optional differential ratios.
Does this D27  differential ratio match your installation ?

Both axles are 4.27 ratio.   What is a 1310 yoke? A yoke change would probably be the simplest solution if the pinion shaft fitment of the replacement was identical to the stock one but with the larger bolts spacing. Part number or application for the replacement?? Thank you

1310 designates the size of the universal joint.
1310 is the size used for most jeep applications. Dana Spicer # 5-153X
The smaller joint is called a 1110/1210 joint Dana Spicer # 5-248X

I'll try to remember and dig up the proper Jeep part number for you.
The 1969 axle  will require a yoke having 26 pinion shaft splines.
F.Y.I. The D25 yoke has 10 input shaft splines.

Here's one of my  old posts on ECJ5 that I found...

To understand individual changes one must observe the overall progression.
Bear with me here these are the facts as I understand them to be.

The complete story really begins with the prototype reconnaissance vehicle.
All entries produced during early development relied almost entirely on Spicer drive train components.
Furthermore all military prototypes vehicles used the Spicer built model 25 front axle.
That axle progressed yet changed very little throughout its production.
It always used the W/O # A 1106 End Yoke.

In 1961 W/O began to install the new model 27 front axles into the CJ's.
The model 27 Spicer was very short lived.
It was back out of production that same year.
By late 1962 the model 27 re-emerged as the model 27A.
This version amounted to little more than a change of the housing cover.
Both 27 and 27A used the W/O # 926816 End Yoke.

Then in 1965 the axle was changed again and became known as the model 27AF.
In its final form the axle was now fitted with the W/O # 936216 End Yoke.
According to numerical parts reference the model 27AF seems to have arrived immediately before the V-6 became available.
All later CJ's both F-4 and V-6 versions through 1971 had the W/O # 936216 End Yoke.

Terrific! Progress is being made. Now to get the part number or original application of a 26 pinion shaft splines yoke with the 1-3/8 x 2-7/8 u bolts spacing.  And, depending upon how uncommon it was, where to source it? Thanks oldtime  and others who may chip in.

#936316 is the small (1210) fine (26) spline D27 yoke .
That's what you should have on the 1969 D27.

#926816 is the earlier large (1310) D27 yoke.

Thanks, Oldtime. Carl Walck had a NOS 926816 yoke at a reasonable price. Needs only a 3/8" spacer (which I made on my lathe) between the yoke and the pinion washer & nut.  Will put in a new seal also, when the weather is more cooperative. My Pennsylvania garage is unheated, so will work on items that can be carried into my heated workshop, until warmer days.
